About Us

We are a Boy Scout Troop located in Strasburg, Pennsylvania in the Conestoga River District of the Pennsylvania Dutch Council. We are a very active Boy Scout Troop with weekly meetings, every Monday from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM, and camping trips almost every month of the year (to see upcoming meetings and events click here). If you are interested in joining our Troop, be sure to contact our Scoutmaster, Mr. Brian Shimp, at troop56boyscouts@gmail.com or come visit us at one of our weekly meetings!

The official charter of the Boy Scouts of America states, "The purpose of this corporation shall be to promote, through organization and cooperation with other agencies, the ability of boys to do things for themselves and others, to train them in Scoutcraft, and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred virtues, using methods which are now in common use by the Boy Scouts."
