Eagle Project Guidance

Find an idea

The Eagle Project must be a servace project that helps a non-profit for example; any religious institution, any school, or your community.

Ask the Eagle Adviser

Find the current Eagle Advisor and ask them if the idea would work as a project.

Note: Start thinking if you want to fundraise, if you do, then start filling out the fundraising page.

Talk to the Beneficiary

Talk to the beneficiary and start to make basic plans on what you are going to do for your project. Make sure you tell them that you need to get the plan approved by the committee.

Fill out the Proposal

In the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook located at the link below, you must fill out the project proposal part of the workbook. (It is recomended that you print out the whole packet.)

Talk to the Scout Master

Ask the Scout Master to set up a time to meeting with the troops unit leader, unit committee, and the council or district.

Prepare to talk to the Committee

Start a speech, make a presentation, prepare to give them the answers to the questions they haven't event thought to come up with yet.

Talk to the Committee

Be confident, say your speech, and answer all their questions with confidence. All they are looking for is:

  • Are you confident?
  • Do you know what you are doing?
  • Is it a project that fills the requirements for the workbook?

Talk to the Beneficiary and Pick a Date

Talk to the beneficiary about finalizing plans on what you are going to do and when you are going to do it. Make sure that you don't plan on the same date a scouting event and alert your Scout Master and SPL of the date.

Note: Look at the Eagle Scout Service Project Plan before you go and make sure you can fill out everything.

Fill out the Plan

Fill out the questions for the project under the Eagle Scout Service Project Plan.

Have the Project

Have fun with the project, but make sure that everything is going as planned, and don't forget to delegate and keep scouts working, that's what they are there for.

Note: Read over the report before you do the project.Note: You might want to make a copy of the plan to take with you in the case you loose it, then you didn't lose your workbook.Note: Remember to keep track of who was there for how long and turn it in the the appropriate person.

Fill out the Report

Complete the questions for the Workbook.

Note: You might want to complete this as soon as you can after you complete the project

Get the Workbook Signed

Beneficiary

You need to get the Workbook signed by the beneficiary saying that you have completed the project.

Scout Master

You need to go over the project with the Scout Master and get them to sign it.

Congratulations

Now you can move over to finish the rest of the Eagle Scout Requirements.
