Webmaster Guidance

Hello Webmaster, this is a page that will tell you how to upkeep the website and use it. Remember this site could be the first thing a new scout sees when he joins the troop, or the first thing a new scouts parents see so please make sure any changes you make to this site maintain the image that we want for our troop. The first thing you need to know is that the buttons on the website Do Not Work when you are in editing mode. To preview what the website will look like you click the Computer with the Cellphone at the top of the screen. To make the changes public that you made please tell the SPL, ASPL, or Adult Webmaster. The pages are on the right to navigate the website in editing mode. Under this is what you will need to make sure is up to date. If you have any problems, please ask the Adult Webmaster for assistance.

Pages to worry about editing

The Contact Us page, please make sure the Scout Master's name is correct.

The Permission Slips page needs to stay up to date.

When a new permission slip is available, upload it to the Permission Slips folder in the Webmaster's Folder on Google Drive and place the View share link in a button on the Permission Slip page and make sure it shows only accessible by collaborators (Like in the picture). You can get these from Mrs. Johnson.

Please remove the links and PDF of the Permission Slip after their due dates.

The Photos page. When we have a new trip, add a subpage under past outings with the name being the name of the trip and the year, and upload photos from the trip to the page. Make sure to add a button with the name of the page to Past Trips page at the top and click the three dots next to the new subpage and click Hide From Navigation. Please try to keep each button alternating colors like shown on this page. (grey, white, grey, etc.)

If a new Eagle Project is brought to your attention, or added to the google fourm/sheets (located in the Webmaster's Folder), add it to the Eagle Project Ideas. Add the contact information of who should be contacted for the program.

If someone has taken the project, please take the idea off the website.
